Sounds like the family had some serious issues, but as a father, can't imagine even having to think those sentences, let alone say them.

I really felt for the dad, and like you I can't imagine being in that situation. I hope that the two on the run come to their senses somehow and this doesn't end violently because I would also feel bad for the officers who have to deal with that. It's just a terrible situation.
