Since we're all still sharing, my last billing period was Nov 26 to Dec 29, capturing the most miserably cold days over the holidays. For my 62-year-old, ~1000 sq ft bungalow I used 17.61 GJ (actual meter reading), and at $4.09/GJ that's $72.03. Including admin charges, delivery charges and carbon tax my total gas bill was $202.57.

70+ GJ is nucking futs. Gotta be a reconciliation of estimated usages on previous bills, and/or a metering problem.

EDIT: For comparison, my electricity was 203 kWh @ 6.69 ¢/kWh, for a total of $13.58 energy charges and a total $53.27. In the summer my gas usage drops off to a trickle, less than 1 GJ, and electricity <150 kWh. My July bill from last year was 141 kWh and 0.95 GJ, for only $8.87 in electricity energy charges and $3.40 in natural gas energy charges. Total charges including fees were $47.45 and $52.24, respectively.
