It's not burying him, it's balancing the lines. However, Id prefer Dube to be the right wing with them. This allows you to roll 3 different lines at about the same 5on5 TOI without having a significant drop off. Backlund still takes the heavy defensive minutes and Johnny still gets all the power play time he can handle.
But it puts our team in a great position to have balanced scoring depth. Gaudreau would be good for Bennett and Dube but I think their game would be a great change of scenery for Gaudreau as well.
People really need to stop thinking so matter of factly when it comes to line combinations. There are ways to set up the lines that would make us have no "3rd line" but basically three equal lines, each one capable of having more minutes depending on who is firing on all cylinders that night.
