[Bobby is about to face Daniel in the semifinals]
Kreese: Bobby - I want him out of commission.
Bobby: But Sensei, I can beat this guy!
Kreese: I don't want him beat.
Bobby: But I'll be disqualified!
Kreese: [icily] Out of commission.

You know, if I was to redo my list of movie villains, Kreese would almost have to go in there somewhere.

As much as it had the whole feel good story of Danial and Myagi.

The end game redemption of Johnny.

Kreese was this incredibly complex villain, and maybe a victim as well.

We see the picture of him in soldiers gear, he was probably in Vietnam, and he was either that guy who gleefully machine gunned villages, or he was so traumatized by the whole thing that he became determined not to be weak or a victim again.

Who taught him Karate? Clearly someone taught him a perverted movie version of the philosophy.

I mean in the third movie he wasn't as good and the villains role was taken by a cardboard cut out of every villains cliche, the cackling laugh, the over the top yelling, the evil over the top overly complicated plan.

But Kreese in that first movie, was a great villain.
