Anyway, just watching my wife’s from my YVR to PEK and wondering how accurate / real-time are FlightAware or Flightradar24? Do they just show the estimated path / location or so they get the data somehow. Wow It’s amazing how many flights are up in the air just looking at Flightradar24 around Beijing.
Seems fairly accurate.

I've used it to check planes overhead (I live under the TATL Highway which is pretty cool).

If an Emrites plane is directly overhead on a clear day you can see the marking of the red belly.

I've also used it to follow flights landing at YQY. If there isn't a delay, its within seconds in terms of accuracy. What I like about it is when picking people up from the airport, or waiting for my inbound flight to arrive I can see where it's at and see why it may be later than expected (ie: they pass the airport and turn around over the water).

Love FlightRadar24.
