Our rescue was very scared and timid to begin with as well. He was somewhat crate trained and that seemed to help a ton. He had his own space and could go in there whenever he got overwhelmed. How long have you had your rescue? Once our buddy was settled in he came out of his shell in a few days. Every so often he’ll still have a relapse after 7 years of being with us and he still goes to his crate to hang out for a bit.
