The preliminary actions of a Turkish invasion of northeast Syria have begun with air and artillery strikes in the vicinity of Ras al-Ayn to Tal Abyad.
Turk major goal will be to interrupt the M4 highway that runs parallel to the border. The M4, which is about 20-30 km from the border, allows for troop movements between the east and the west of the SDF-held areas.
