Wow thanks for the post! I have started looking around for remotes and would like to try and not spend that much money on one. I actually just bought a cheapo IR kit off of ebay. I wasn't expecting much out of it but works perfectly.
One other problem is that for my tv pannasonic I have it set up to have digital cable going to it via a switch from the reciever as well as analog cable going to it. But the only way to change the channel when it is in analog is with the panny remote. None of the other ones work because it defaults to cable box. Is this solved with a fancy remote as well?
