Here are 10 tips that I mostly agree with. I would still caution you not to spend a fortune on gear even though one of the tips says get good gear. It does make things easier to a point, but its not a deal breaker.

If I was you, I would look to start on
small creeks or streams, or even ponds. I wouldn't start on the Bow. In some smaller streams or rivers the fish are where they're supposed to be, which sounds kind of silly, but some big rivers will just be discouraging I think.
