The question I’m more or less asking is, with the Blues and Hawks in the playoff picture now, are we still confident that we absolutely want to finish 1st in the division? The answer logically is Yes, but for me, i don’t think it’s as resounding as it once was when I thought it’d be a Colorado, Vancouver, Arizona or etc.
I like the idea of going up against Minnesota, but without Koivu and Dumba for final drive, it’s looking tough. My guess is, the wild card teams will be some combination between the Blues, Stars, Hawks and the Wild.

I think your right about the wildcard race, but the logical answer is still "yes" regardless of who gets in. The value in winning the Division for me is not so much about the first round matchup—I expect the Flames to win that one regardless of whomever they play. The value is what happens in round two and beyond.
