This looks to be borrowing a lot while adding different elements. Tom Cruise won't bring the same humour or charisma but perhaps this one's aiming for a darker tone and heavier action. I'll be checking it out with low expectations.

I don't think this will be anything like Brendan Fraser's Mummy. It's the first installment of Universal Studio's Monster Universe, like the MCU or DCEU.
