I actually have 3 (soon to be 4) computers running. My PC, my wife's PC (which is just all my last gen parts) and my "NAS" PC which runs Linux (which is my 2nd last gen parts).
My 5900x/3080 unit is probably somewhere in the wheelhouse of ~$4K worth of stuff (at MSRP, not including peripherals/monitors. Obv the 3080 and 5900x have "value" much higher at the moment due to the parts shortage), while the others I've gotten my money's worth out of years ago.
All the PCs are built for heavy cooling/heavy gaming/heavy audio+video creation usage, so running ETH mining in them at sustainable temps is a breeze (not including the bad cooler on the XC3 Ultra 3080, which as I noted before I replaced).
