For Viral Conjunctivitis prescription allergy drops can provide symptom relief. For Bacterial it is best to get a prescription antibiotic from an Optometrist. Can clear it up quickly and there are currently no shortages there.
Sorry, should have explained further. We called 811 and they recommended to get the OTC drops just in case it started to present more like bacterial vs viral. After 10 visits around south Calgary and Okotoks I gave up. Our plan was to get an optometrist appointment if it did get worse, but thankfully it cleared up. Our friend who’s a nurse also recommended going the optometrist route, which obviously can be much easier and convenient than going to the doctor.
