Icon24 Skin(ner) to Win for Hawks

The Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings have finalized a trade sending winger Jeff Skinner to the Windy City.

In exchange for Skinner the Kings receive the Hawks' 2019 first round draft pick, Josh Jacobs, and the Hawks' 2019 3rd round pick.

The deal also contains a condition in that if Chicago misses the 2019 CPHL playoffs, the Kings will send the Hawks a 2nd round 2019 pick. If the Hawks qualify for the playoffs, the Kings will send the Hawks a 3rd round pick.

For Chicago the acquisition of Skinner solidifies the top six forward group while providing flexibility as Skinner can play both left and right wing. Although it was difficult to part with the first round pick, Skinner's age (26) and reasonable 3 year contract ($3.5mil per year) was worth the risk.

The top six for Chicago appears to be set for 2018-19:
B. Marchand - E. Malkin - V. Trocheck
A. Ladd ------ K. Turris --- J. Skinner

The Blackhawks would like to thank LA GM Completely for the civilized and fair negotiations.

Also of note, as part of this trade my 10 year old daughter is extremely happy as Skinner is her favorite player from our days as Carolina season ticket holders. She has multiple autographs and pictures with Skinner and has been hounding me since joining the CPHL to acquire him. Mission accomplished.
