This whole "growing internally" BS does not mean anything. I would bet anything that guys like Gaudreau, Monahan, Backlund, Jankowski are not going to come back next season all of a sudden being tough to play against. They needed to bring in players who give a #### and have another gear..even Frolik recognized that.

I don't think it is an unreasonable expectation at all. It was a five-game series in which the Flames looked surprised by how things went, and by the outcome. It seems like a decent gamble to me that the second best team in the NHL last year should be counted upon to be in contention for the Division, and to take another step and find another level in the playoffs the next time around. Sometimes it takes players a while to figure it out.
