Dealing with officials is a big part - only captains and assistants are supposed to talk to them (which is why Tkachuk might not have been a good choice).
For me, it’s Backlund or Tanev. Huberdeau is too new. Let him get to know his teammates before he is given the role. The one thing about Backlund - it took a lot longer than I’d have thought for him to get the A. I always wondered if maybe he didn’t even want the job.
