The Dragonslayer model was from a kit with some aftermarket stuff added for the base (I could NEVER scratchbuild something like that), while The Ferryman was a scratch job, made out of Sculpey, wire and various bits of garbage.
I've done more scratchbuilding in the past little while, which actually grew out of building the kits - started building stands which led to diorama which led to sculpting. I'm right now building a boat kit which'll have a sea-like base to it.
