he's already got almost 10 years on those legs in the NHL. My sense of watching him over the past decade is that he will not be the wily mid-30s vet with an edge that you see him becoming.
If they sign him long-term for what he's asking for - i hope you are right. otherwise, it will be a decision we regret because he will not be tradeable at that salary if he's underperforming.
