They should now be trying to tell the parts in middle.
Some possibilities:
1. Look at this crime he solved while facing off against the Riddler (not Jim Carey).
2. Tell the Jason Todd story and give us Hush.
3. Batman gets locked up in Arkham, watch him get out.
4. Give us a good Mr. Freeze story.
5. Live action Phantasm.
6. Man-bat is awesome if done well.
7. Professor Pyg is creepy as hell

I'd watch all 8 of those films. Since it's going to be a prequel I could see the Reeves films having less powerful villains (Penguin, Riddler ect) and then some films that take place after JL where Affleck is Batman and he faces off against more fantastical villains (Clayface, Mr.Freeze, ect).
