I made this point when someone else noted the fact that the Sharks are presently on a five-game win streak. Prior to that streak they had a 3-3-1 record in the same stretch in which the Flames ran the table.

This is why Enoch dispels the significance of schedule strength; much for the same reason that I don't find arguments from current performance particularly compelling. Every team will go through multiple periods of ebb and flow all season long. With the slimmest of margins for error between the Sharks and Flames, there is virtually no good way to handicap the Division. It really does amount to a coin toss: neither team has a real advantage; neither team is really in the chase position; neither team is individually setting the he pace.
