I'm halfway through and like it so far. It is tough to compare to JJ since the shows have a much different tone. I currently believe it is that it is very similar to Daredevil in quality, themes and plot but with better music. Some of the similarities I have noticed:

-Public debate over vigilantes
-A mob boss villain with good intentions but a belief the ends justify the means
-A flashback episode while our hero is injured
-Police corruption
-Motivation from the death of a father/father figure
-Rosario Dawson
-Killing off actors from the Wire (I'm worried for Kima!)

Thing is, his "reluctant hero" schtick seems to be the only thing that's keeping him from basically destroying absolutely everyone in his path, since no one is really much of a threat to him.

I get the whole "I'm an escaped prisoner fugitive" side of things, wanting to lay low... but this takes place after Jessica Jones, in which he ran a freaking bar... Also, how has he gone from that to sweeping floors and washing dishes? This whole thing would make more sense if it predated the run-in with Kilgrave (maybe even if it took place pre-Avengers Incident).

Good point, this may have worked better as a prequel to JJ or they could have done a better job explaining his move. I understand why he would want to run away and start a new life after the drama with JJ and Killgrave but moving to the other side of Central Park doesn't really accomplish that.
