If you wanted to help the developing world, you would give them the same access to fossil fuels that the first world has. The environmentalists are asking them to forego that, and it's one of the biggest problems with the movement.
There are some aspects of wealth redistribution in the environmental movement, but plenty of rich privilege as well.
