Sometimes I wish clubs make only the numbers 1 to 29 available to players, and further still, #1 is automatically assigned to the goalie, 1-6 to the dmen and the forwards get the rest.

I'm on the high end of numbers. Make all teams start from #60 to #98 and permit 0 and 00 to be used. Allow star defensive players to wear low numbers.
Neil Sheehy wore 0 and goaltender John Davidson wore 00.
