People get too hung up over slotting. Crosby plays with filler on his line every year. Doesn’t mean they’re the best wingers on the team or that the Crosby line is somehow not #1. Sometimes successful teams balance their lineup.

In this instance its blatantly misguided. There's no way that Ferland and Czarnik provide better production balance than having what was it, the 2nd or 3rd best line in hockey broken up, just because.
Using pittsburgh is equally misguided. Wheres our Malkin?
There's no scenario where the Flames find better success without that top line production unless there's a better or equal player than Lindholm coming in to help with that. Czarnik or Ferland or even Neal are not that. By a lengthy margin.
