Looks like AA does participate but AAA (including minor midget) do not.
Any yes, Friday practices are the worst for focus and execution and it only get's worse as they get older it seems. In general when they are struggling I agree with simplifying the drills and also run some high energy ones that maybe don't require a lot of skill/complexity but get them moving. Races, relays etc.
