You can buy a smart phone scanner from Kodak or Lomography. Kodak available here:

If you have a DSLR, you can use it as the scanner and take a photo of the negative.

With the DSLR method you will have to fiddle in Photoshop or equivalent to turn the negative into a positive. I assume the scanners do that conversion but you will still have to fiddle in Photoshop most likely.

I've used the DSLR method for scanning positives and it worked fine. I haven't done it for negatives, though. It's a lot of work, though, depending on how much you need to scan.

Now I just suck it up and mail my film to The Darkroom. They do a fantastic job.
