Against Montreal specifically? We're 4-1 this season.
A 7 games series starting with our last 3 games? We're 3-0, not 1-2.

After looking at it, I think I understand what he is getting at...
Because the Flames had five remaining games v. the team they are chasing for the playoffs, it is an imaginary scenario that envisions just these five games as part of a seven-game playoff series, but in which we must pretend that Montreal has already won the first two games. Wednesday was Imaginary Game #3, with the Flames already having lost Imaginary Games #1 and #2. The idea being that the Flames need to win four of their remaining five to win the Imaginary Series.
I think it is monumentally silly. It is much more straightforward and accurate to state the obvious: the Flames need to win at least 4/5 v. Montreal.
