It's so funny to look at the trades in the late 90's and see all the former Saint John players getting shipped out. If there was one thing to be certain of back then, it was that as soon as a player became a favorite here, they'd get traded.
It's especially hilarious to see all the deals they made after SJ's first run to the Calder in '98.

Hlushko, Dowd, Kohn, Gavey, Bast, and Allison were all huge parts of the team in Saint John at the time.
No real point to this post, I just found it kind of funny reading all those trades that didn't do a whole lot for either team.
EDIT: Oh, and I just wanted to add that I absolutely
hated hearing that a player was traded for "future considerations". Drove me abso-friggin-lutely nuts!
