Deal Wrapped Up with a Bouw
The Hawks completed a deal with the L.A. Kings that brings defenseman Jay Bouwmeester to the Windy City. The deal breaks down as follows:

The Hawks needed to shore up the defense with a veteran defender and Bouwmeester was identified as someone to fill the gap. I was relying heavily on young dmen in Pesce and Orlov who will likely be good in time, but are not ready yet. The hope is that Bouwmeester can improve team defense; lowering the number of shots the goalies are facing thereby reducing goalie fatigue.
