Kassian’s contract reminds me a lot of Kostinem’s extension. Overpaid, came out of nowhere, was totally unnecessary at the time, and seemingly done to appease the fanbase and show they had everything in control. And Holland can’t even blame Chia for this one. So bizarre.

Tkachuk trolled the whole organization into giving Kassian that deal.
Also Oilers dont seem to realize they are supposed to inflate players stats by playing then with McDavid and then dumping them for an overpayment
Instead they do this:
1) Play with McDavid to inflate value
2) Re-sign to inflated contract
3) Move off 97's line and wonder why hes not living up to his contract
