Question for the CP collective brain.

I'm looking for a Johnny jersey for my son's birthday.
I apologize for my ignorance, but have come across the Fanatics Breakaway ($190) and the Adidas Authentic ($250).
Besides obviously price and the tag, what other differences are there?
Does the Breakaway look/feel cheap? My son is turning 17, and is a die-hard Flames fan. Should I just get the Authentic?

Also, are there better prices out there besides SPortschek and ShopNhl ?
