I tried reading the first arc of Coates' Black Panther but I found it to be too slow of a burn for my liking. It's well regarded though. And I'm not really familiar with the Punisher at all, sorry.
What kind of stories are you looking for? What kind of tone? I might be able to recommend some other titles.
