OP asks about depth, then lists only first line for each team. That is the antithesis of depth. Depth is lines two through four, then your extra bodies, then what you have got immediate call ups. The focus on the top line pretty well guarantees that Edmonton is number one, seeing they have the best and most dynamic offensive player in the game. When you get past that, Edmonton crashes very hard, very quickly. Try merging the rosters and tell me where the players would slot?

Centers

McDavid, Monahan, Draisaitl, Backlund, Jankowski, Ryan, Strome, Brodziak

RWs

Neal, Lindholm, Frolik, Brouwer, Lazar, Rattie, Puljujarvi, Kassian, Aberg, Caggiula

LWs

Gaudreau, Tkachuk, The Tenderness, Bennett, Lucic, Rieder, Kharia, Hathaway

Defense

Giordano, Hamonic, Brodie, Larsson, Hanafin, Sekera, Nurse, Klefbom, Stone, Kulak, Russell, Benning

Depth is important and this exercise shows where the depth really is.
