Are you watching the same games? they are calling it. When the puck takes a weird bounce off of a player or their equipment, the refs arent calling that as it was accidental. When it's a clear shot over the glass from the defender's stick like Gio's attempt to clear in the final minute, a penalty is justifiable

But it's never a clear shot. The player never does it on purpose. The puck only goes over the glass if it was on edge and they raise it more than they intended.
A bad bounce shouldn't be a penalty.
