Seriously. This is so obvious it should have been in the thread title.
There have been a lot of really good movies that obviously shouldn't be re-made listed in here but I don't know I'd call any of them "perfect" in a similar way to Casablanca, other than, arguably, Shawshank. There's a sort of polish to them. You pretty much have to find a film that's not
too ambitious, and then takes its material and knocks it clear out of the park. Which is a formula that applies to Princess Bride, but it's still not without its flaws, charming as they may be.
Maybe 12 Angry Men?
