The Ottawa Senators have signed centre Chris VandeVelde to a professional tryout agreement with an invitation to the team’s training camp.
VandeVelde has played in 278 career NHL games split between the Edmonton Oilers and Philadelphia Flyers scoring 18 goals and adding 30 assists. The 30-year-old played in 81 games for the Flyers in 2016-17, recording six goals and nine assists.
Ottawa opens its training camp Thursday at Canadian Tire Centre.
