1. San Jose* - good regular season team
2. Anaheim* - a couple all stars and a decent supporting cast
3. Los Angeles* - built for the playoffs, should lock down a playoff spot easily enough
4. Vancouver* - on the decline, but still enough in the tank for at least one more playoff humiliation
5. Phoenix - big drop off from Vancouver to bottom three in the pacific. Just not enough firepower.
6. Edmonton - poorly built team will not go anywhere
7. Calgary - wins will be tough to come by

1. Chicago* - best in the west, even with cup hangover
2. St.Louis* - easily second best in fairly weak division
3. Minnesota* - least holes of the remaining teams in the division
4. Colorado* - have to be better with McKinnon and new coach
5. Winnipeg - not going to like the west
6. Dallas - could be better than Winnipeg... But still pretty bad
7. Nashville - even trotz can't get these guys to score

1. Boston* - great team
2. Detroit* - easier travel and weaker eastern teams will make Detroit look years younger
3. Ottawa* - good young players. Gotta be less man games lost this year
4. Tampa* - too many good players to be as bad as last year
5. Toronto - short season made them look better than they are.
6. Montreal - much like Toronto. Hot start won't be enough in 82 game season
7. Buffalo - bad, poorly constructed team.
8. Florida - won't take much going wrong for them to end up at the bottom again

1. Pittsburgh* - easy pick for division win
2. NYR* - step below pittsburgh, but should cruise to second
3. Washington* - Ovi good enough to lead team to playoffs
4. Philadelphia* - should bounce back from bad 12/13 season
5. Carolina - will be in the chase for 4th/crossover playoff spot, but not good enough
6. NYI - Tavares is great, but team isn't.
7. Columbus - last year was one step forward, time for two steps back
8. New Jersey - you can't lose your best forwards two years in a row and get better can you? Could score even less than Nashville.
