I’m not too worried about how good the song is or isn’t. What’s exciting to me is the haunting, sombre tone of the song and the lyrics. I’m really hyped to see this movie.

I should have known I’d leave alone.
It just goes to show,
that the blood you bleed is just the blood you owe.

We were a pair, but I saw you there.
Too much to bear.
You were my life but life is far away from fair.

Was I stupid to love you?
Was it reckless to help?
Was it obvious to everybody else
that I’d fallen for a lie?
You were never on my side.

Fool me once, fool me twice.
Are you Death or paradise?
Now you’ll never see me cry.
There’s just no time to die.

I let it burn, you’re no longer my concern.
Faces from my past return.
Another lesson yet to learn.

Think about those words in the context of the Daniel Craig era (where all the films are connected). It all started with Vesper, whom he loved (but she betrayed him) and then Swann... it sounds like she’s going to betray him too (“fool me once, fool me twice”) after everything he went through to save her (“was I stupid to love you, reckless to help”).

But even through all that, he doesn’t get the luxury everyone else has of being able to take time to deal with stuff. He literally has to suck it up and go save a world that he probably doesn’t even really believe is worth saving (you’ll never see me cry, there’s just no time to die).

When you couple all that with the tone of the song and how you can hear this buildup of everything that’s happened to him... I’m just really looking forward to this movie. Bond has always been entertaining, but to me this Daniel Craig era has been some next-level sh*t.
