Where did you get these statistics?

Watching the game it seemed that McDavid played a lot where the stats showed that he had low ice time game (for him). 19:32 last year he averaged 21:08 per game..

The Flames did not force them to play him more.

Funny game with ice-time: Monahan only 16:34 Gaudreau 18:23 in a game where the Flames were trailing and badly needed a goal or at least a momentum shift that the top line should provide.

If as your stats seem to indicate the top-5 unit was carrying the play it sure would have made sense to play them more and let Edmonton adapt.
