Can-Con is responsible for a huge amount of mediocre music over the years, but there were a few Canadian bands I really liked.

I Mother Earth's first album was interesting, slightly heavy and cool. They just turned to weak garbage soon after, the lowest point being Edwin's solo single. Just horrid.

Age of Electric, great rock band from the prairies. Incredible live band, worked hard, toured a lot and always had interesting covers thrown in their sets. Absolutely love them. Ryan's Limblifter is damn good and Todd is touring the world with Slash right now, not bad.

Salvador Dream. Their debut album UR was ahead of it's time, every musician I knew praised them. Amazing musicianship, songwriting and arrangements. Such a strong album.
