Perfectly reasonable contract.

I'm willing to give Kane a pass on his supposed attitude problems. People grow up and mature. People may not get along with specific individuals. His current teammates/coach have all praised him. Even if he has an attitude, so what if he produces on the ice. Many NFL/NBA players have huge egos but are superstars on the field.

I'm also skeptical of injury history. If a running back has a history of groin or foot injuries, that is a red flag. Kane's injuries seem to be random. If anything, his value is underrated since people will discount him due to low counting totals. Moreover, he was likely playing hurt for durations of his games, further depressing his totals. A fully healthy Kane should project much higher than his historics.

Guy has size, toughness, goal scoring touch, and takes a regular shift on the PK. Nothing outrageous about this contract at all.
