He certainly is right now and only time will tell who becomes better. One thing we can say about Calgary right now is that they don't have a shortage of goaltender depth. Hopefully one of these young guys can turn into the next starter for Calgary.
How is it obvious? Better numbers =/= better goalie. There is a reason why Gillies wins more and loses less games than Rittich. The team plays better offensively in front of Gillies because they are more comfortable opening up with him in net. The starts with Rittich are usually the more boring games the Heat play because they fall back into a defensive shell. His numbers are great, but you are outright wrong about him being the better goalie.
