That would be a pretty big Oiler move right there and Edmonton is No Good.
There's no reason to bring him into the front office at all. What value would he add to the franchise? He was a marginal player that carved out a career primarily on rebuilding Flames/Leafs teams. Nice guy, hard worker but there's no need to get silly and give him some token position that amounts to nothing in the long run.
