I don't agree with stoning either bc you are right there is no need for "acts of violence". However, murderers (that isn't self defense (your own self defense or someone's elses) or accidental in any way), rapists and anyone that does anything to children don't deserve to be on this planet. You say they don't belong in society so I assume you mean send them to jail for life? Rapists/pedophiles wouldn't last a month in jail without getting the snot beat out of them. They are the scum of the scum(as you've said). All the other inmates have a "code" if you will, and rapists/pedophiles would actually probably rather want death then to have their a** kicked in every day. I think if you commit any gruesome crime such as a rape, or anything to children you totally deserve death. It doesn't have to be stoning etc as yeah that probably wouldn't make one better then a criminal. Just stick some needles in the m*thaer and that's that. I don't have the patience for those people. My stance may seem emotional but 2 of my best friends that are girls were brutally raped at the ages of 17 and 18 and still to this day there lives aren't the same. They are super popular women but they are still down because something was taken away from them and that's something that will never go away. I see what you are saying in that committing violence on someone who commited a crime doesn't make you better. Stoning or castration or making someone suffer probably isn't the best way to go. Give em the injection and they are "removed from society" as you put it. It doesn't have to be a violent death, just rid them from society. Some people get help when they commit crimes (GTA, stealing, robbery, etc) but in cases like this, I don't believe people deserve a second chance when it is this extreme. Just my stance on things.
PS.....just wanted to restate that I only think the death penalty should be handed out in extreme cases (repeat offenders, etc)
