The g/f is from there... I gather the area around Martin Collegiate is not good:

I gather the south end is newer and has much of the good shopping. In general, the farther you are from "downtown" the better off you are due to the decay of those neighborhoods. But seriously, what does it take to drive cross town, 15 min?
