This is good news. I am curious what the cultural funding means. Perhaps we'll finally get a proper public art gallery? I'm hoping the city will try to leverage this money and get the federal government to match funds on some major projects like WLRT and SELRT. Some money toward centre city revitalization, streetscape improvements would also be nice.
With regard to taxes, Calgary has some of the lowest property taxes of any major city in North America. Consequently, we get some of the skimpiest services. People want services, but seeminly not willing to pay for them.
