Advice? Listen politely to everyones advice, and then do what you think is right. You'll know your little guy better than anyone, so you'll know best, despite what Grandma's best friend says.
Do it all. Walks with him, take him everywhere, change him, feed him (when that time comes), steal him for a whole day to let your wife rest and go do "guy stuff" even though he's too small to understand.
AND, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT LOOK AT THE PLACENTA AFTERWARDS!!!!!

The Tank took the words out of my mouth, especially the bolded part.
Your parents, the in-laws, sisters, brothers, cousins, strangers......everyone feels the need once in a while to tell you how to do certain things or the solutions to any problem. But like Frank says.....it's your kid, not theirs.
Don't get me wrong......some of the advice we got really was invaluable. But a lot wasn't. Nobody will know your kid like you and your wife. Every kid is different. You'll figure it out and be fine.
The only advice I have is to try and enjoy everything........the birth, the first days, the sleepless nights, etc. Some of it is pretty hard to enjoy or adjust to, but it goes by so freaking fast it will make your head spin. Our daughter is 9 months old and my wife and I always talk about how fast everything is going by.......feels like we just brought her home from the hospital yesterday.
Congrats, BTW. And you too Fozzie & Antithesis.
