Dealing with Dirty Diapers
Our daughter just graduated from breast milk and baby cereal to mushed up solids. As all you parents out there already know, this means the smell of her poop went from mildly inconvenient to debilitating and unholy.
We live in a smallish basement suite and any nasty nappies that sit around in the trash for more than 30 seconds start to infect their surroundings with a foul stench.
We've looked at a couple different models of diaper pails that claim to prevent odours from spreading. Most, like the Diaper Genie, seem to involve an initial investment of $50+ bucks to get the bucket and then spend the next year or two buying replacement plastic bags for the unit. Others utilize fans and 8D batteries. Not sure I need that much technology in a garbage pail.
So what's a guy to do? Any advice for a new parent who is tired of choking on the air in his own home?
