True but there are some differences between the sports that may prevent this. NFL playbooks are more complicated than the possible plays a third base coach could be relaying to a runner. In baseball, you've got maybe a handful of guys (coach, baserunner(s) and batter) that need to be on the same page. In football, you've got the coach plus the rest of the defence.
