4X4, I am on board with you on this one. Reading some of the posts on here, I feel like there are many that have never actually left the confines of a small town and driven on a freeway in their life. Whether Deerfoot is in the city or not, it has always been known as a freeway. Just like the 401 in T.O., the I5 in Seattle, a FREEWAY! Any other city, where there is an actual freeway, the common rules are usually known by all drivers. Slower traffic, no matter what the speed stays out of the left lane.
I could be going 150km/hr and if some guy in a car, minivan, suv or anything comes behind me, I will move over for him. I have no reason to try and slow them down and moving over to the middle lane is a simple procedure. If someone wants to go faster than I am, its none of my concern. My average speed on Deerfoot is betwenn 120 and 140km and I always move over when someone is behind me.
I have a sister is notorious for driving 100-110km in the left lane and says the whole stupid argument as, Im going speed limit or slightly over so I should be in the left lane. Yet on the other hand, she complains about the aholes who tailgate her. The moment I told her, well if you are going to drive like that to prove a point, then dont complain about tailgating, cause it will happen each and everytime you drive that way on a freeway. I hope it does, so you finally wise up, i tell her.
